Last week I had the pleasure of attending the 4th Annual Step Up Shine & Dine Event Benefitting Chicago Girls, along with Lisa Thurman, and my sister, Susan Sycamore. The event was held at the Bridgeport Arts Center in the Skyline Loft, which was the perfect setting for such an inspiring event. It was another home run for Step Up Chicago!

The young ladies involved with Step Up greeted us at the front door with open arms and we couldn’t wait to head on in! We sampled tasty bites from some of the best local restaurants (RA Sushi, Troquet, Vanille Patisserie, ZED451 and RL, just to name a few), perused the silent auction items, and networked with other guests.

Catherine De Orio, the new host of “Check Please,” kicked off the event by sharing her own inspiring story. She told us about deciding to leave her law practice to go back to school to become a chef! De Orio also reminded us that everyone needs a support system… and that is what Step Up is for! The organization is there to help local girls that need mentoring, and financial assistance, achieve their dreams of going to college!

My sister, Susan Sycamore, is a board member of Step Up and has been for the past 3 years. She is passionate about Step Up’s mission to help empower teen girls in Chicago from under-resourced communities to become confident, college-bound and career-focused young ladies.

AMAZINGCOSMETICS was very excited to participate in this amazing event! We donated cosmetic bags filled with our signature products for the gift bags, as well as a grand prize for the “Step Up And Pull” booth!

It was a wonderful night for an incredible group of young girls. We can’t wait for next year!

Until next time,

Sandy
